The Altar Book for Gorecki was inspired by his Symphony No.3, as recorded in 1992 with aoprano Dan Upshaw, and the copperplate engravings from 'The Ornithology of Francis Willughby' of 1678 are produced as visual equivalents to the symphony's three movements.
